Rick handles a wide-range of trial work, including criminal defense, divorce, parental rights and responsibilities, personal injury and general civil litigation in both State and Federal courts throughout Maine. His criminal cases have ranged from the successful defense and jury acquittal in a murder trial, to felony drug, OUI, and domestic violence charges. He has also represented many clients in complicated divorce and child custody trials throughout the Midcoast region. Rick has always focused on an active trial practice.
Out of law school, Rick served first as an Assistant District Attorney in District Six, Knox County, where he prosecuted felony criminal cases and handled over 100 jury trials over several years. He was a frequent law enforcement instructor during this tenure at the DA’s office. His background and experience gives him a unique perspective on how to best defend criminal defendants and on effective trial strategy in all types of trial matters.
